How to Navigate Injuries from 2 Recent Car Accidents
Unfortunately, it is more common than most people think to be involved in two car accidents within a short period of time. If you are injured in one, or both, of the accidents, dealing with two separate accidents and two separate injury claims can make things even more complicated than they already are.
If you have already retained an injury attorney for your first car accident, you should contact him or her immediately to make sure he or she is aware of the second accident. How your attorney should handle your claims will depend on many factors such as: (1) were you at fault in either of the accidents; (2) did you suffer new injuries or aggravate an already existing injury in both of the accidents, or is one of the accidents more clearly the cause of your pain; and (3) what insurance coverages are available from both of the accidents.
If you are in a situation where neither of the accidents was your fault, it is extremely important to speak with a local injury attorney before releasing anyone from liability. Even if one accident was more clearly the cause of injury, it may be necessary to pursue claims in both to make sure you receive full compensation.
